On the road in 2010

Here it is, April already. It's been a slow travel year, although I have been airborne twice, both times headed for Florida. January saw a quick trip to the Ft. Lauderdale area, while February saw an unexpected, extended vacation on a 4-day Disney Cruise Line voyage, with a 4-day (unplanned) follow-up in Disney World. In July, I'll be headed to Utila, one of the Bay Islands of Honduras, for a week of diving. We'll be staying at the Utila Dive Lodge, and I'm looking forward to this after a busy couple of months. August may be bringing a week-long road trip to and around Montreal, Canada. I also have the possibility of a few weeks of travel for work, this time in Houston, TX and St. Rose, LA.

Not as much as I'd like, but I'll take it!

Year in Review

I don't normally like to look back on things, but I was just thinking about how I won't be able to travel as much in 2010, and yet feeling thankful that I got to travel a bit in 2009.

We started off the year with a quick trip to the Ft. Lauderdale, FL area, where we basically just hung out for a few days. In April, it was a birthday celebration trip to Disney World, in Orlando, FL for my sister. July brought a week-long dive trip aboard the Belize Aggressor, on the warm waters of the Caribbean. September brought me back to Ft. Lauderdale for a few days. October found me in Chattanooga, TN for a work trip. Also in October was a short 3-day cruise on the Disney Wonder.

I enjoyed all that travel time, but am honestly looking forward to future years when I can go more places and see more things. Until then, I will continue to plan!

Planning, planning, planning....

As the holidaze bear down on us, today's New York Times brings us a nice article on coping with travel issues when you fly at this time of year. Read it, especially if you're going to be heading out to an airport. And safe travels!

How to Handle Digital Photography on the Road

Lately, I find myself shooting more and more photographs on each trip I take. While this may be a good thing as far as providing me a way to remember the trip, it can be daunting to try and protect and organize my images. During the trip, I am often confronted with the issue of what to do with all my digital images. The folks over at Gadling have a great post today about that, so go check it out.
